Head-to-head trailers, also known as center load trailers, are typically designed for transporting four to six horses or more. In these trailers, two or three horses stand side-by-side facing forward in the rear section, while an additional two or three horses face the rear in the front section, separated by a center aisle. This central “alley” allows for easy access, with a side ramp and escape door providing convenient loading and unloading. This design enables the handler to load or unload any horse without disturbing the others. Additionally, this style of trailer can often be converted into three box stalls, making it a popular choice among commercial haulers.
